In consonance with his ideal – SERVICE TO HUMANITY IS SERVICE TO GOD – Swami Asimananda Saraswati founded SRI SRI BIJOYKRISHNA ASHRAM RELIEF SOCIETY at Ramchandrapur Ashram, Purulia, West Bengal in the year 1943, the year of GREAT BENGAL FAMINE, to provide food & relief to the starving millions. The Society was registered under Societies Act XXI of 1860 in the year 1961-62. As a forebearer of the message of compassion and cordiality to all, Swamiji came to set up this Society to serve the SUFFERING HUMANITY, the downtrodden people, who have always been neglected by the so-called social and political workers as well as the welfare government.
